October Guild Meeting

Our October program will feature another one of our very talented members.

Pat Bromberger will talk and demonstrate the art of indigo tie dying. Bring your notebook to take notes and your imagination. The possibilities for this art are boundless!!

1:00 pm social, 1:30 pm meeting.

This will be our final program meeting for 2023. In November we have a social at a local restaurant.

September Workshop: Rob Appell

BVQ is presenting a workshop by local quilter, Rob Appell. It’s taken a long time to get on his schedule.

Sunday, September 24, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, SBCC.

This day is a special treat for members; you will not be charged.   If a non-member is interested, there is a $25 charge plus the cost of templates and pattern. We have a limited number of seats available.

Members please RSVP by September 10. Contact President Sue or Vice-President Sharon. Their contact info is listed in your roster.

September Guild Meeting

Deb Rigoli will be our featured speaker, Sunday, September 17, sharing her expertise in the art of Sashiko stitching. Deb is a local quilter who does amazing work. Sashiko means “little stabs”, referring to the stitches used in this form. Join us for the fun!

As part of Deb’s presentation, we will be given opportunity to create a sample piece. She will provide fabric, needle, and thread. Please bring scissors if you can.

We will make a Sashiko sample.

August 20 meeting

Our August meeting will feature Dawn from the Creation Station in Buellton. Dawn will be sharing “The Love of Rick Rack” with the guild. If you have not seen one of Dawn’s presentations you won’t want to miss this one. She is creative and entertaining.

Upcoming 2023 activities

August 20: Our August meeting will feature Dawn from the Creation Station in Buellton. Dawn will be sharing The Love of Rick Rack with the guild. Watch for additional information on this program. The Creation Station

September 17: Deb Regoli. Just in! Deb will be telling us about Sashiko stitching.

November 19: This will be the final meeting of 2023; our traditional “potluck”. However, we let the professionals do the cooking. We just show up and eat! Time and location to be determined.

July 16: ICE CREAM! and Mary Tabor

Join us Sunday, July 16, for our annual ice cream social. Our speaker, Mary Taber, will be joining us from San Diego.

Mary has taught quilting and stitchery at Palomar College and San Diego Continuing Education. She currently teaches and lectures for quilt guilds throughout California. Her machine applique patterns, Snip & Flip, are based on Notan designs. Mary will have patterns and children’s tee shirts for sale.
